FAQ

What is a passing Air Force PFA score?

A composite of 75 or higher out of 100, with every component at or above its minimum. 90 or higher is rated Excellent.

What are the PFA components?

Cardiorespiratory Fitness (50 points), Body Composition (Waist-to-Height Ratio) (20 points), Muscular Strength (Upper Body) (15 points), Core Endurance (15 points).

When did scored testing start?

Scored, for-record testing began July 1, 2026. March 1 to June 30, 2026 was a diagnostic period. The Air Force said the charts could change after the diagnostic period, so check the date on your official chart.

Is the 2-mile run replacing the 1.5-mile run?

Yes. The new PFA scores a 2-mile run or the 20-meter HAMR shuttle for cardio. The 2.0 km walk is a Go/No-Go alternative for members with a qualifying medical profile and is not scored in points here.
