The AFT has five events. Each event scores 0 to 100 points based on your age group and sex, so the maximum total is 500. Soldiers held to the general standard must score at least 60 points per event and 300 total. Soldiers in combat jobs must score at least 60 per event and 350 total.
- 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift
- Hand-Release Push-Up
- Sprint-Drag-Carry
- Plank
- 2-Mile Run
Soldiers on a permanent profile must average 70 points across the events they can take. The alternate aerobic events (walk, bike, swim, row) are scored Go/No-Go, not in points.
ACFT calculator users
The ACFT is retired. If you searched for an ACFT calculator, this page scores the test that replaced it. The standing power throw no longer counts.
FAQ
Is the AFT the same as the ACFT?
No. The Army Fitness Test (AFT) replaced the Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT). It drops the standing power throw and keeps five events: deadlift, hand-release push-up, sprint-drag-carry, plank and 2-mile run.
What is a passing AFT score?
Under the general standard you need at least 60 points in every event and 300 points total. Under the combat standard you need at least 60 points in every event and 350 points total.
How is the combat standard scored?
The Army describes the combat standard as sex-neutral and age-normed. Every soldier in a combat job is scored on the male (M|C) column of the official tables for their age group, and needs 350 points total. Combat scoring started January 1, 2026 for the active component and June 1, 2026 for the Reserve and National Guard.
