FAQ

What is a passing Navy PRT score?

Every event must score at least 45 points (Probationary). Scoring below Probationary in any single event fails the whole PRT, no matter how well you do in the other events.

How is the overall PRT score calculated?

Each event scores 45 to 100 points in 5-point steps. Your overall score is the average of the three events, and your performance category is the level at or below that average.

What cardio events can I do instead of the run?

With command approval: a 2,000-meter row, a 500-yard or 450-meter swim, a treadmill run or a 12-minute stationary bike. This calculator scores the run, row and both swims. The bike is scored by bike model in the Navy PFA app.

What is the maximum plank time?

The plank stops at the 100-point time for your age group, so holding longer earns nothing extra.

How does the Navy body composition check work in 2026?

Waist-to-height ratio is the first step. A ratio of 0.5499 or less is within standards. At 0.55 or more, a body fat estimate follows. The body composition assessment is part of the PFA but separate from the PRT score.
