FAQ
What is the Space Force PT test called now?
The Human Performance Assessment (HPA), under SPFMAN 36-2905. Since January 1, 2026 Guardians test twice a year, and at least one of the two must be the 2-mile run.
How is the HPA scored?
Out of 100 points: cardio 60 (2-mile run or 20 m HAMR), muscular strength 20 (push-ups or hand-release push-ups) and muscular endurance 20 (sit-ups, cross-leg reverse crunch or forearm plank). You pass with 75 or more and every component at or above its minimum. 90 or more is Fit to Fight.
Does the Space Force use the Air Force PFA charts?
No. The HPA has its own charts with a 60/20/20 split. The Air Force PFA splits points 50/20/15/15 and includes waist-to-height in the score.
Is waist-to-height ratio part of the score?
No. Waist-to-height is assessed separately and is not part of the 100 points. The standard is a ratio below 0.55.
